الشراكة السودانية لنقلِ المعرفةِ عبر المغتربين السودانيين - (SPaKTEN) برنامج
Some of the well skilled Sudanese professionals, distinguished scientists, and technologists of high caliber chose to settle work abroad. This way quantity and quality of human capital available to Sudan has been reduced, a phenomenon that has its negative impact on sustainable development. Nonetheless, use can be made of their acquired knowledge and gained experience.
Sudanese Working Abroad Organization addressed the issue and this program has been initiated for that goal. Sudanese Partnership for Transfer of Knowledge by Expatriates National (SPaKTEN ) calls for qualified expatriate professionals from developing countries to return to their countries of origin for a specified short period of time to share the skills they have gained during their residence in developed countries.
SPaKTEN is a working partnership and a national network among all those involved in transfer of knowledge and technology.
SPaKTEN is open to all organizations, Government agencies, public institutions, bi- and multilateral development banks, professional associations, research sectors, nongovernmental and country organizations, private sector, private companies, professional organizations, and others agencies involved in transfer of knowledge using national expatriates, committed to the objectives of the Secretariat of Sudanese Working Abroad.
SPaKTEN is hosted by the Secretariat of Sudanese Working Abroad within its general mandate for the welfare of the nation.
Selection Committee Consultants are selected by the Consulting Partners or by an international expert committee after scrutinizing the bid data of the candidate and the requirements of the organizations in the light of national priorities.
SPaKTEN Sudanese Program is currently engaged for research to compile lists of expatriate national Sudanese residing in certain countries of geographic regions to strengthen the SPaKTEN Sudanese candidate roster.
How to search for a SPaKTEN Consultant or a SPaKTEN host institution?
It is possible to search through the profiles or the requests available in the SPaKTEN roster.
Any Institution or organization in Sudan including NGO’s rural and women organizations wishing to enlist a SPaKTEN consultant please complete the request and expression of interest application form.
Upon completion of their assignments, SPaKTEN Consultants are required to submit a detailed report describing his/her work and achievements. The report also includes technical observations and recommendations.
The host institution in turn submits an evaluation of the SPaKTEN consultant form by which it provides mainly: information on types of activities undertaken, whether work done fulfilled priority needs of the institution, the volunteer’s suggestions be implemented, the institution will maintain contact with the volunteer, a return visit of the Consultants be needed and any specific difficulties were encountered and suggestions to improve the program.
These active dialogues between the expatriate and the host institution would encourage expatriates to return back for work in Sudan.
